- What is Choruss?
- Choruss is a web app for group event money collection and fair expense splitting. Organizers collect contributions, track event expenses, and close with a clear surplus or shortfall — without WhatsApp screenshots or Excel sheets.
- Who is Choruss for?
- Any group that pools money for a shared event: housing society festivals, friend trips, office parties, clubs, alumni groups, and families. It is not limited to housing societies.
- Is Choruss an app to collect money for group events?
- Yes. Choruss is built for collecting group contributions for events, recording expenses, and showing each participant a fair balance when the event closes.
- Why use Choruss instead of WhatsApp and Excel?
- Payment proofs, expense notes, and balances get scattered across chats and spreadsheets. Choruss keeps collections, expenses, and balances in one shared record everyone can see.
- Does Choruss hold the money?
- No. Choruss is not a bank or escrow. Money goes to the organizer or their payment provider. Choruss tracks payments, expenses, and ledger balances only.
- Is Choruss free to use?
- Yes. Choruss is currently free for managing group event money collection and expense splitting.
- How do organizers collect contributions?
- Create an event, set the contribution amount or instructions, and share an invite link or QR code. Participants pay via the organizer’s payment method or upload proof so organizers can mark who has paid.
- How does expense tracking work?
- Organizers add bills as they happen — food, venue, transport, decoration, and other costs. The event view shows total collected versus total spent.
- How is surplus calculated?
- Choruss compares total money collected with total expenses. What remains is shown as surplus. Each participant can see their related balance based on what they paid and how the group closes the event.
- Can multiple organizers manage one event?
- Yes. You can add co-organizers so more than one person can manage participants, payments, and expenses.
- Can participants see their own balance?
- Yes. After joining, each participant can see what they paid and what balance or surplus is shown for them.
- Does Choruss work on mobile?
- Yes. Choruss is designed for phones. Use it in the browser, install from the site where supported, or get the Android app on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.choruss.twa (package com.choruss.twa).
- How do I delete my Choruss account?
- Use Profile → Delete my account in the app, or email choruss.works@gmail.com with subject “Delete my account” and your registered phone number. See the Delete account page for details.
- Is Choruss the same as music or other Chorus apps?
- No. Choruss (double-s) is a group event money collection and expense-splitting product. It is unrelated to music-industry Choruss projects and unrelated Chorus-branded apps.
